Description

Phenyl vinyl sulfone is a versatile Michael acceptor. In the eletriptan route it is conjugate-added onto an indole acetic acid derivative to introduce the phenyl-sulfonylethyl side chain that gives the molecule its 5-HT1B/1D selectivity.
